Larry Akah

Akah Larry is one of Silicon Mountain’s finest software engineers, a graduate from the University of Buea, Faculty of Engineering. As the organizer of GDG Buea from 2014 to 2016 amongst other things, Larry led the Android Study Jam in 2015 where he trained several Android developers in the community. His work greatly improved the android community, introduced dozens of newbies as well as improved the skills of existing developers to build and deploy apps on Playstore. Larry is a certified Professional Android Developer from UDacity, 2014. He is also certified in AI programming with Python from Udacity.

In 2015, Larry participated in the Google Summer of Code program in the Apache Software Foundation where he built an Android application from scratch using Apache Taverna.

Larry has worked with several software firms some of which includes Traveler, an app that mimics the operations of airbag deployments in cars to detect and act in case of an impact with the car. Traveler has been recognized both nationally and internationally and has won several awards amongst which the team qualified for Africa Engineering Innovation Prize finalist

Larry loves writing code in Java, Android development and PHP. He currently serves as CTO of Seven Academy in Douala, Cameroon.
